We take local garden and forestry residuals and process them into a premium, organic, compost for landscapers, home gardeners, and local businesses. About the role
As a Yard Attendant, you will control and maintain a commercial yard while communicating professionally with customers. A usual day will include anything from driving deliveries, loading vehicles with equipment, maintaining yard machinery, printing weigh tickets for commercial vehicles, screening loads for contaminants, and booking deliveries or orders for pickup. What you’ll be doing
- Directing customer vehicles and commercial traffic
- Maintaining yard
- Receiving payments from customers
- Assisting in loading vehicles
- Bagging compost using hydraulic bagger
- Receiving commercial incoming traffic and pre-screening loads before dumping
- Performing small project-based work as needed
What we’re looking for
- Great communication skills
- Exposure to customer service is an asset
- Experience in landscaping, gardening, farming, or soil sciences is an asset
- Experience with light machinery and delivery trucks is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft applications
- Ability to work outside for extended periods year-round
- Mechanical and machine operating abilities are an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to work alone or with a team
